I honestly can’t recommend Green Squirrel Energy highly enough! From the very first survey, I felt like I was dealing with people who genuinely cared about doing the job properly rather than just making a sale.

After discovering our roof had been poorly installed by another company, they took the time to explain everything clearly, showing us exactly what was wrong and why it needed replacing. There was never any pressure—just honest, professional advice that gave us complete confidence in their recommendations.

The workmanship has been absolutely outstanding. Our new roof looks beautiful, and the integrated solar panels are so sleek that they blend in perfectly. The team also installed a Tesla Powerwall and handled all of the complicated electrical upgrades, including liaising with the DNO and sorting out the export limitation process. Recently had a Worcester Bosch air conditioning system installed and I'm really happy with it, installation was carried out professionally, with great attention to detail.

Anthony, Alan and the guys were great from start to finish, they took pride in delivering a first-class installation. Had it for over a week now and It’s made a huge difference to my room and the upstairs area, delighted with both its performance and the quality of the installation.

A special mention also goes to the Green Squirrel Energy Project Manager, who was communicative throughout, kept me informed every step and worked hard to find the right solution during a period when there was an equipment shortage. Especially in the summer where there is demand and waiting lists elsewhere, they gave me a date within 2 weeks and kept their promise, their commitment to customer service and problem-solving really stood out.

We recently had Green Squirrel Energy install a Mitsubishi heat pump and new hot water cylinder, allowing us to go completely gas-free. They also upgraded our house to three-phase power and installed new consumer units, supporting our Tesla Powerwall and future electrical needs.

When my gas boiler broke down and was not worth repairing I knew it was time to investigate an air source heat pump. I have a dormer bungalow built in 1962. 5 months before I had installed a new insulated roof, solar panels and a 9kW battery so a heat pump is in line with my eco values. I had 3 quotes and each one suggested that a different level of work was required concerning changing the pipework and radiators. Alan from Green Squirrel’s approach made the most sense to me. He was recommended to me by Octopus. From the beginning he was highly attentive. He understands the importance of the quality of the install in order for the heat pump to work well. Alan invested many hours in the planing stage before I gave him the job. He appreciated the huge financial investment so was keen for me to understand how this system works and to ensure that my home was made suitable.
The whole team were outstanding and the work was completed in the time quoted. As I needed new pipework there was some disruption but all was made as easy as possible. I felt that both Alan and Simon, the engineer, really wanted me to be happy with all the work and for everything to work well.
So far the heat pump is working perfectly though I have not had my first winter yet.

I recently had a full renewable energy system installed by Green Squirrel Energy at my house in Lymm. ​I first reached out to Alan at Green Squirrel about 9 months before I actually needed anyone on site. It was right at the start of a full house renovation and, even at that early stage, I could tell they were the right fit. Alan didn’t just give me a generic quote; he went away, had the proper calculations done, and worked through a solid plan for the property. We had a bit of back and forth on the final design—which I really appreciated—because it meant we landed on a setup that actually suited the house rather than a "one size fits all" solution.

​The project was massive: Solar, Powerwall 3, a full heating system, including a heat pump and underfloor heating throughout the downstairs.
​The installation was handled by Simon and his team, and they were great. If you’ve ever done a big renovation, you know how much of a headache it is coordinating different trades, but the Green Squirrel guys worked brilliantly with my builder to keep things on track. They weren't just in and out; the quality of the finish was clearly important to them.

​Now that the dust has settled and the longer days are finally here, the system is performing exactly as Alan promised. The house is perfectly comfortable year-round (the underfloor heating is a game-changer), and seeing the solar and battery kick in now the sun is out is a great feeling

Alan and his team did a fantastic job for us.  The advice was sound, the work well planned and expertly delivered by considerate professionals.  There was none of the common heavy sales patter, instead considered unpressurised advice.   Alan went out of his way to advise on any (occasional and unavoidable) changes to plan. Very good advice and support from Green Squirrel Energy.
Background to this - heat pump installed in 2012 (fairly early adopter). The heat pump has always worked ok - in my view - but I have not been so confident in the control system. We have struggled to get house warm.
With increasing frustration with the lack of F2F support from original installer I searched online to see if anyone locally and found Green Squirrel Energy from Knutsford (we live close). Contacted them more in hope than expectation - but they quickly phoned back and I engaged them to do a diagnostic on the system. Simon came to visit and they came up with a plan to improve - which wasn't going to be cheap...but I was up for that. Credit to them - they discussed amongst themselves and came to the view that although their proposal was perhaps ideal, it was difficult to guarantee the outcome given the original install. They then came up with a more cost effective solution with which I agreed to proceed. Credit to them that they didn't try to sell me the most expensive solution....
The solution was a new (Hive) control system which Simon and their electrician installed in a morning. I have also installed Hive TRV's on all the radiators.
(I should also mention that as part of this work I have also undertaken a DIY change to 2 downstairs radiators and have installed a Strada Hybrid - so I also need to give a 'shout out' to David and his team at the Radiator Centre, Leamington Spa)
Alan and Simon also took the time to educate me on how to get the best out of air source heat pump system by leaving it running 24/7 - I was treating it like a gas fired central heating system, but no-one had ever told me different.
The result has been transformational - we now have a comfortably warm home for the first time in 13 years. Yes it's costing some money to run, but we were spending a fair amount before and weren't warm...
I am very pleased with the service and support we have had from Alan and Simon and give them respect for coming up with a more cost effective solution when they could have sold me something more expensive.

I used Green Squirrel as a one stop shop for the design and installation of my underfloor heating system combined with an Octopus air source heat pump.  The whole process was very efficiently managed .  The installers and technical leads, Simon Fagan and Andrew Hassell worked very efficiently on the install, showing me how everything worked and demonstrating the Octopus app (which is, like everything I have dealt with from Octopus, absolutely fab!).
